The Lent-Riker-Smith House – October 20th at 3:00pm http://www.rikerhome.com $30.00
Several years ago, I had the opportunity to meet and tour the Lent-Riker-Smith House and I loved it. I recently did a tour of Astoria Historical Society and they had a picture of this old house and several persons wanted to tour it.
The tour begins with Mrs. Smith telling you about the history of the house. You will see the beams from the earliest owners. She will tell you about the additions to the house. She has a large collection of dolls, Snow Whites, Broadway Theatrical artifacts.
The back yard has over 100 graves and she will provide the list of those buried there. The gardens were beautiful and I’m sure they still are.
Transportation: F train to 21st St. & Queensbridge –we will take Bus Q100 (Select Bus)
Meeting Place: Queensbridge (platform after the turnstiles) (I’ll have a MeetUp sign)
Q100 Bus ride is about 20-25 minutes from Queensbridge (6 stops)
