Special Places visits an arboretum and sculpture garden at Hofstra University

Saturday, November 4, 2017 @ 10:30 am - 4:45 pm

On 11/4/17 Hofstra University Event

In Nassau County there is a private university with over 200 acres of trees, a bird sanctuary and sculpture garden. It is one of the most beautiful campuses in the New York city area. The university is Hofstra in Hempstead, Long Island.

The university has a museum (HUM) where we will check out their current exhibit. As we enter the campus, we will encounter sculptures by Seward Johnson, Manolo Pascual, Mihail Chemiakin, Henry Moore and many other sculptures. There are over 60 sculptures throughout the campus.

We will also visit their galleries, Emily Lowe Gallery & David Filderman Gallery.

There are several places where we can get a bite or you may want to bring your own lunch. They have Starbucks, Sbarro, Nathan's, Red Mango and others. We can decide when we get there.
